Mitch McConnell was hospitalized after a fall

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell was taken to a hospital Wednesday night after walking during a dinner party, his office said.

A spokesman for McConnell told CBS News that the 81-year-old was at a private dinner at a Washington, D.C., hotel when he tripped and fell.

“He has been admitted to hospital where he is receiving treatment,” the spokesperson said.

No details were given about his condition or incident.
