Rafael Montero pithed one innings, giving up one earned run, walking one and striking out one to close out a 3-2 Houston win.
Fantasy Impact:
Rafael Montero looked a little shaky at times picking up the save on Thursday. The one earned run he surrendered came on Corey Seager’s solo shot with 1-out. Montero recovered to strike out Mitch Garver and walk Nate Lowe before inducing Adolis Garcia into game ending fielders choice.
The save was Montero’s first of the year as part of a bullpen by committee for Dusty Baker with regular closer Ryan Pressly on the 10-day IL with a knee injury. Montero has an ERA and WHIP both sitting at 0.96 and has racked up 15 strikeouts in 9 1/3 innings so far this season.
