2nd Starbucks coming to Austintown

AUSTINTOWN — A Canfield-based developer is planning a Starbucks on Mahoning Avenue.

According to the Mahoning County Auditor’s Office, Cardinal Realty bought a 0.55-acre parcel for $500,000 in September that, according to the township Friday, is for the 1,000-square-foot coffee shop with drive-thru.

The land is at the southwest corner of the parking lot for the Giant Eagle near North Kimberly Avenue, said Darren Crivelli, zoning inspector.

The property transaction, according to the auditor’s office, is with Fisher Foods, which had owned the land since 1990. The rest of the parking lot and store is owned by Boca Raton, Fla.-based Aneff LLC & Alisan LLC, said Crivelli.

“Giant Eagle itself is a tenant, they don’t own the property,” Crivelli said. “However, they did own this separately platted lot and they sold it to Cardinal Realty for this project.”

Aneff LLC & Alisan LLC acquired the property, 5220 Mahoning Ave., in 2015, the auditor’s office shows.

Cardinal Realty was formed in September by James Sabatine Jr. of Canfield, according to the Ohio Secretary of State’s Office.

Crivelli said he expects construction to start within the next couple of weeks. When the project is complete, it will be the second Starbucks in Austintown. The other is on state Route 46 south of the Interstate 80 interchange.
