Tim David’s unbeaten 140 helped Surrey to a victory against Warwickshire in the penultimate round of Royal London Cup fixtures that took place yesterday.
Tuesday’s Hundred games between Manchester Originals and London Spirit will be reviewed in tomorrow’s column alongside Southern Brave against Welsh Fire from later today.
Essex vs Sussex (Group A)
Sussex would win the toss and elect to field first.
Sir Alastair Cook would be bowled by David Wiese for 29 before Tom Westley would be caught by Will Beer of the bowling of Danial Ibrahim for 4. A 115-run third-wicket partnership between Josh Rymell and Feroze Khushi would be ended with the former LBW to the same bowler for 78 before Paul Walter would be caught by Archie Lenham off the bowling of Wiese for 27.
Ryan ten Doeschate would be caught by Ben Brown off the bowling of Beer for 2 before Khushi would be caught by Haines off the same bowler for 77. Simon Harmer would be LBW to James Coles for 6 before Adam Wheater would be the final wicket to fall, caught by Coles off the bowling of Joseph Sarro, for 53 off 29 balls – Aron Nijjar (28 off 16 balls) and Jack Plom (9) were the not out batsmen at the end of the innings.
