David’s Century Defeats Warwickshire

Tim David’s unbeaten 140 helped Surrey to a victory against Warwickshire in the penultimate round of Royal London Cup fixtures that took place yesterday.

Tuesday’s Hundred games between Manchester Originals and London Spirit will be reviewed in tomorrow’s column alongside Southern Brave against Welsh Fire from later today.

Essex vs Sussex (Group A)

Sussex would win the toss and elect to field first.

Sir Alastair Cook would be bowled by David Wiese for 29 before Tom Westley would be caught by Will Beer of the bowling of Danial Ibrahim for 4. A 115-run third-wicket partnership between Josh Rymell and Feroze Khushi would be ended with the former LBW to the same bowler for 78 before Paul Walter would be caught by Archie Lenham off the bowling of Wiese for 27.

Ryan ten Doeschate would be caught by Ben Brown off the bowling of Beer for 2 before Khushi would be caught by Haines off the same bowler for 77. Simon Harmer would be LBW to James Coles for 6 before Adam Wheater would be the final wicket to fall, caught by Coles off the bowling of Joseph Sarro, for 53 off 29 balls – Aron Nijjar (28 off 16 balls) and Jack Plom (9) were the not out batsmen at the end of the innings.

Ali Orr would be bowled by Plom for 10 before Tom Haines would be caught by Cook off the same bowler for 4. Brown would be caught by Harmer off the bowling of Nijjar for 26 before Travis Head would be bowled by Harmer for 38.

Wiese would be caught by Allison off the bowling of ten Doeschate for 36 off 20 balls before Oliver Carter would be caught by Khushi off the bowling of Harmer for 19. Coles would be caught behind by Wheater off the bowling of ten Doeschate for 32 before Ibrahim would be caught by the same fielder off Plom’s bowling for 7. Beer would be caught by Harmer off ten Doeschate’s bowling before the Dutchman would also get the final wicket as Lenham would be caught by Westley for 16 – Sarro finishing 4 not out.

Essex travel to Lancashire tomorrow while Durham host Hampshire at the same time.

Worcestershire vs Durham (Group A)

Durham won the toss and elected to bat first.

Graham Clark would be caught by Joe Leach off the bowling of Brett D’Oliviera for 28 before Scott Borthwick would be run out by Ed Barnard for 10. Cameron Bancroft would be bowled by Banton for 11 before Alex Lees would be bowled by Adam Finch for 93.

David Bedingham would be caught by Jacques Banton off the bowling of Josh Baker for 66 off 41 balls before Sean Dickson would be run out by D’Oliviera for 17. Liam Trevaskis would be bowled by Barnard before Ned Eckersley would be LBW to Finch for 36. Luke Doneathy would fall to the final ball of the innings, bowled by Barnard, for 10 with Matt Salisbury finishing 2 not out.

Ricardo Vasconcelos would be caught behind by Dane Schadendorf off the bowling of Peter Trego for 13 before Ben Curran would be caught by Hutton off the bowling of Dane Paterson for 11. Emilio Gay would be caught by Ben Slater off the bowling of Tom Barber for 40 before Rob Keogh would be stumped by Schadendorf off the bowling of Liam Patterson-White for 18.

Saif Zaib would be bowled by Patterson-White for 14 before Luke Procter would be caught by Paterson off the same bowler for 44. Tom Taylor would be caught & bowled by Patterson-White for 6 before Simon Kerrigan would be bowled by Patterson-White (the bowler finishing with figures of 5/19 from his 10 overs). Opener Steven Davies would be caught by Swindells off the bowling of Will Davis for 61 before a 178-run partnership from George Bartlett and George Thomas would be ended with the latter bowled by Mike for 75. Bartlett was the final wicket to fall, caught by Patel off the bowling of Davis, for 108 off 89 balls – Marchant de Lange (20 off 7 balls) and Josh Davey (10 off 3 balls) the not out batsmen.
