Hubbard’s Dom Panozzo was the highlight of the Mahoning Valley competitors Friday at the OHSAA state swim meet as the Eagles senior placed 6th in the 100 meter breaststroke. Panozzo clocked a time of 58.02 seconds which was just over three seconds behind first place finisher Logan Ottke from Cincinnati Hills Christian.
Columbiana’s Preston Buckingham finished 11th in the same event.
In the prelims of the event, Panozzo actually clocked a faster time with a 57.70 finish and qualified 5th in the event.
Canfield’s relay teams also turned in a decent performance. The Cardinals 200 freestyle relay placed 11th with a 1:30.12 clocking and their 400 freestyle relay turned in a 3:18.58 time for a 13th place finish.
Poland’s Camen D’Alesio also placed 10th in the Division II diving competition.
