Two face charges in Palmyra Road burglary

LORDSTOWN — Two people were charged with burglary after a Palmyra Road man reported to police his home had been broken into Sunday evening.

Todd Peterman, 58, and Eleanor E. Eckert, 35, are facing charges in Newton Falls Municipal Court. Peterman was charged with endangering children and burglary, while Eckert additionally was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and contributing to the unruliness of a juvenile.

The police report states the man called 911 just after 6 p.m. and said people in a silver van “robbed the house.” The 50-year-old homeowner said he saw a woman and two males — both wearing knitted stocking hats — in the house. One of the males was a juvenile, the report states.

The homeowner told police he believes one of the three entered his home through a southeast window after pulling out an air conditioning unit. The man recognized the woman as a friend from social media and said he had invited the woman into his home before.
