Wed. 10:10 a.m.: Farrell man arrested in Hubbard Township on attempted murder charge

HUBBARD TOWNSHIP — A fugitive wanted on an attempted murder charge in Pennsylvania was arrested in Hubbard Township on Tuesday evening.

Malcolm R. Hailstock, 29, of Roemer Boulevard, Farrell, was booked into the Trumbull County jail about 6:40 p.m., according to records. Hailstock also faces a charge in Girard Municipal Court of driving under suspension.

Hailstock will be facing extradition procedures in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court this week. If he doesn’t waive extradition, the process could take weeks.

Hailstock was arrested by Hubbard Township police with assistance from Liberty and Farrell officers, according to a social media post.

According to court records, Hailstockás traffic charge stems from a Jan. 18, 2020, traffic stop by Vienna police at state Route 82 westbound at Warner Road. A warrant was issued by Girard court after Hailstock did not appear for a Sept. 13, 2021, hearing in the traffic case.

No details were provided about the attempted murder charge.

Court records in Mahoning County show that Hailstock on March 11, 2020, pleaded guilty to an amended charge of obstruction of justice in which he was later sentenced to 18 months in prison. That case dealt with Hailstock being accused of firing a gun at a Steel Street bar in 2019.
