Officers responding to reports of a shooting at a concert in Rochester, N.Y., late Sunday night found several people injured but none suffering from gunshot wounds, police said, adding there was “no evidence” of a shooting at the site.
Instead, they said the injuries at the Main Street armory were apparently sustained “as a result of a large crowd pushing for the exits after what people described as gunshots.”

Three of the injured were taken to a hospital where one, a 33-year-old woman, died and the others were listed in critical condition. Six others were taken by private vehicle to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Alec Richardson of CBS Rochester affiliate WROC-TV tweeted that he was told “at least three women were trampled as concertgoers left the venue.” He said he “also saw a firefighter performing CPR, possibly on a victim at the scene”:
