It’s that time of year: Jeremy Clarkson blesses us with yet another A-levels inspirational message of wonder on results day

Each and every year, without fail, the Grand Tour host shares his grand wealth on results day – and it is grand – to try and distract any gutted kids from thinking their future is in the bin if they didn’t get the grades they were hoping for.

It’s the humblebrag to end all humblebrags, with last year’s message an homage to his Bentley. Before that, it was all about his Cotswolds mansion and expansive Diddly Squat farm. In 2019 it was his grand French chateau.

This year? He’s on a boat.

Sharing a most glorious shot of his view on Thursday morning, the Clarkson’s Farm star, 62, wrote: ‘Don’t worry if your A level results are disappointing.

‘I got a C and 2 Us and I’m currently holidaying on this boat.’

Fair play to him, the vessel did look like a fine maid, with a smattering of mountains and ocean acting as his vista today. A-level results? Who needs ’em, eh?

Despite the early message, punters had been waiting for his sage wisdom, with many flocking to the replies to let Jeremy – who, according to those financial sleuths over at Celebrity Net Worth, is worth $70million (£58m) – know as much.

‘This man knows culture,’ one pointed out, clearly vibing on the fact this has become an auspicious moment as anticipated as the results themselves, while another mused: ‘The evergreen tweet. The reliable Clarkson comfort tweet.’

Keen to take a walk down memory lane and revisit some of his messages of yore?

Last year it was all about another vehicle – his car: ‘If the teachers didn’t give you the A level results you were hoping for, don’t worry.

‘I got a C and 2Us and I’ve ended up happy, with loads of friends and a Bentley.’

In 2020 he wrote: ‘A level results not great? Don’t worry, I got a C and 2 Us and I’m currently building a large house with far reaching views of the Cotswolds.’

A year before that? ‘A level results a bit rubbish? Don’t worry. I got a C and two Us and I’ve rented this place for the summer.’

In 2017, it was: ‘If you didn’t get the right A level results, don’t worry. I got a C and 2 Us, and my chef is preparing truffles for breakfast.’

Our personal favourite? In 2016, he offered: ‘If your A level results are disappointing, don’t worry. I got a C and two Us, and I’m currently on a superyacht in the Med.’
