WHAT: City council meetings Feb. 7 and Feb. 22

PRESENT: Bill Williams, Bonnie Viele, Robin Zambrini, Michael Mogg, Cathy Cummings, Jerome Crowe, Michael Kerr, Ryan Hallapy and Mayor Ben Kyle

Council:

• Entered into a contract with Seven Brothers Painting for the Christian Avenue water tank rehabilitation project at $509,000 contingent on the city receiving an Ohio Water Development Authority funding;

• Heard from Cummings the park board is requesting security cameras for the park. She said there are also drainage concerns at Jones Field. Williams questioned if it is worth the upkeep of the field that is used for one tournament per year;

• Reported Crowe was appointed to the Trumbull County Council of Governments;

• Were informed Tanna Angyal was named as Hubbard Township’s representative to the joint fire district board for a three-year term; Lewis Agnone to the park and recreation board; and Hubbard Township trustee Bill Colletta to the cemetery board;

• Announced a limited number of smoke detectors and COVID-19 tests are available for city residents at the mayor’s office;

• Heard from Mayor Ben Kyle that Lane Ambulance has been working well with the fire district. Residents who have comments on the service can contact the mayor’s office;

• Announced a work session will be 5:30 p.m. March 4 on rate study for electric and water utilities.
