Warren resident, 68, stabbed

WARREN — City police officers were investigating an incident late Tuesday in the 1200 block of Highland Avenue SW where a victim was taken to St. Joseph Warren Hospital with a stab wound to the head, according to a police report.

A woman has been taken into custody and was charged in the incident.

The victim, a 68-year-old Warren man, arrived about 11:30 p.m. at the hospital in a gray Buick driven by a 41-year-old woman, the report states. The man got out of the passenger side of the car holding a towel to the left side of his head, and the report states he was covered in blood from his T-shirt down to his jeans.

The officer tried to talk to the victim, who had severe cuts above his left eye and on the left side of his head above the ear, but he was not responding very well, according to the report. The woman told officers she was around the corner from the home where the stabbing occurred, and she received a call for help from the victim. The woman told officers the victim did not give the name of the person who stabbed him, but the officer said in the report the victim had identified his assailant.

The woman whom the victim identified — named in the report as Zulekha Marie Williamson — was arrested about 11:45 p.m., according to the report.

Warren Municipal Court records show Williamson, 42, of Highland Avenue SW, is scheduled to be arraigned on a charge of felonious assault today before Judge Thomas Gysegem. Williamson remains in Trumbull County jail pending a bond which is expected to be set at today’s hearing.
