Kim Kardashian and Ciara Grace Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Covers

Kim Kardashian and Ciara Grace

Kim Kardashian is among the models gracing Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit 2022 cover. The Skims founder posed on a rock in a dreamy location, wearing a tan bikini from her own brand. Comprised of a plunging triangle bra top and a cheeky thong, the two-piece set was accessorized with matching sheer opera gloves for added flair.

In a letter to her younger self, written for the magazine, the 41-year-old star addressed the topic of criticism: “For years you’ll be putting yourself out there . . . But you’re going to become a more private person and you’re going to come to realize that the way to get your story out there — the actual narrative, the truth — isn’t by engaging but by doing.” The pop culture icon is moving past disapproval to focus on her family and goal to help people. “It’s easy to say to just ignore the criticism, but another thing you’ll learn is that at some point it will click in your head that it’s not about you anymore,” she added. “It’s about family. It’s about helping other people.”

Kardashian joins Ciara, Yumi Nu, and Maye Musk on the cover of the 59th installment of the SI Swimsuit Issue, which aims to celebrate female empowerment while showcasing a range of body types. Ciara donned a one-piece with a sweetheart neckline by LaQuan Smith in a multicolored leopard print, complete with a dark black cowboy hat and wavy tresses in a honey shade. Meanwhile, Nu’s black one-piece by Michael Costello x Revolve made an alluring case for plunging necklines, waist cutouts, and crisscross straps. Last but not least, Musk embraced ruffles in a bright orange and tan Maygel Coronel one-piece with front cross straps.

“We all deserve the chance to evolve,” said MJ Day, editor in chief of SI Swimsuit in a press release. “So in this issue, we encourage readers to see these models as we see them: multifaceted, multitalented—and sexy while they’re at it. The world may label them one way, but we want to focus our lens on all the ways they see themselves and how they own who they are.”
