Typically the NFL Draft is pretty much set in the hours leading up to the actual reading of the names at the podium. But all indications seem to point toward this being one of the wildest Drafts we’ve seen in a while, which means we might be in for more than just names sliding around draft boards.
Trades are the lifeblood of the draft, not because they make or break a war room but because fans love a trade as much as they love a cold beer on a Sunday in fall. Football, by nature, is an exciting sport and nothing is more instantly gratifying and thrilling than a trade.
One doesn’t have to look hard to read the tea leaves that NFL insiders are glancing at to predict the wildness of this year’s NFL Draft trade frenzy. So far this offseason superstar players like Davante Adams, Russell Wilson, Deshaun Watson, and Tyreek Hill have traded places with the fates of Baker Mayfield, Deebo Samuel, and Jimmy Garoppolo still hanging in the balance. Meanwhile A.J. Brown and D.K. Metcalf have been consistently linked to trade rumors sending them anywhere from Green Bay to Kansas City.
Simply put, the movement this offseason has been monumental and it seemingly serves as merely an appetizer to a feast of trades that will happen over the course of the Draft’s three days this weekend.
With that in mind, we will be tracking and grading all of the NFL Draft trades that happen, as we tuck in our bib and prepare for some chaos.
