The Minnesota Vikings 62nd season in the NFL will begin and end within the division with a Week 1 home game against Green Bay and a Week 18 contest at Chicago.
The Vikings will open a season against the Packers for the second time in three seasons, but a livelier atmosphere is anticipated than in 2020 when U.S. Bank Stadium was eerily silent without fans because of COVID-19 restrictions.
Kickoff for the 2022 opener is scheduled for 3:25 p.m. (CT) on Sept. 11.
Fans have almost set their watches to closing campaigns against the Bears, having seen the teams face off in Minnesota to end six of the past eight seasons. A new twist this year will involve the Vikings playing at Soldier Field in their road finale for the first time since 2009.
The time and date of the Week 18 game is to be determined. It could be scheduled for Jan. 7 or 8, 2023.
It will be one week after Minnesota visits Green Bay for a New Year’s Day game that is scheduled to start at 3:25 p.m. (CT).
In between, Minnesota will host a Thanksgiving game for the first time in franchise history when the New England Patriots visit on Nov. 24, just five days after the Vikings host the Dallas Cowboys.
